Become a Member of the Friends
We’d love you to become a member of the Friends of Peninsula Park Rose Garden. Our Friends group is one of the most highly-regarded volunteer groups in Portland, Oregon. Why? One reason is that we’re a fun group. We love to spend time in the garden, and when you love doing something, you do a great job at it.
Where Do the Dues Go?
When you become a member of the Friends, your annual or monthly donation directly contributes to the volunteer effort to keep this special gem looking beautiful. We are primarily responsible for deadheading roses in the summer, weeding, and tending to the more than 5000 rose bushes. And, because we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in the State of Oregon, your donation is fully tax-deductible.
You can join at several membership levels. All member dues go toward the basic costs of keeping the rose garden volunteer program running. There are two ways to join, as a single-payment, annual-renewal member, or as a monthly payment member.

Additionally, our mission is to build a sustainable program to preserve the garden for the next 100 years. Our efforts have already helped repair some of the effects of the last 100 years of weather on the masonry and concrete work that was first erected in 1913. When you become a member of the Friends, you’ll get access to our periodic newsletters about the rose garden and the roses in the garden, as well as invitations to our Winter lecture series and other garden events. Plus, your membership helps us to do more to restore the garden for future generations. As a member of the Friends, you become a part of that mission and a part of our community.
