Hot Cocoa
Hot Cocoa is one of the Floribunda roses in our garden and its flowers are of one of the most uniquely colored – a red, rusty orange with smoky cast. Each moderately scented bloom is of a double form with slightly ruffled petals and is about 4” inches across.
Tom Carruth, a prolific and award winning hybridizer and breeder of roses, created Hot Cocoa for Weeks Roses with (Playboy X Altissima) X Livin’ Easy as parentage. Introduced in 2003. Hot Cocoa became an AARS winner in 2003. A medium-tall rose, it will grow to 3’ to 4’ and approximately 4.5” wide with a rounded and bushy growth habit. At the Peninsula Park Rose Garden you can find Hot Cocoa in beds 5, 8, 9 and 12.
