Rosie the Riveter™
Introduced in 2018, in tribute to the women who worked in shipyards and factories in WWII, Rosie the Riveter™ is a moderately fragrant floribunda rose with fully double blooms of an orange-gold with pink. Christian Bédard, an award winning hybridizer and breeder of roses, created Rosie the Riveter™ for Weeks Roses using Hotel California and Distant Drums as parentage. Bédard has been in charge of breeding for Weeks Roses since 2012. Just like the women it pays tribute to, Rosie the Riveter™ is a hard-working and continual bloomer in the garden. A medium-tall rose with good disease resistance, it will grow to be about 3’-4’ tall and 3’ wide with a nicely rounded and bushy growth habit.
In the Peninsula Park Rose Garden you can find Rosie the Riveter™ in bed 22.
