About the Guest Speaker:
Dr. Vivek Shandas is a Professor of Geography at Portland State University. He is a prolific scholar and speaker on the multiple ways in which climate change interacts with urban green spaces, forestry and parks, and especially the impacts of climate change on vulnerable urban communities.
Vivek was appointed in 2023 to the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council to the US Department of Agriculture, and he works with numerous nonprofits and community groups.
