Join us for spring pruning in the garden. Refreshments/snacks provided.

Dress for the weather - it will likely be cold and rainy. We work rain or shine. Many volunteers bring water and their own gardening gloves.

Annual Guest Speaker Event

This event is Open to the Public.

Bring a friend, and join us for our Annual Guest Speaker event at the Historic Kenton Firehouse. Doors open at 9:15 AM. Speaker will begin at approximately 10:15 AM. Event will conclude at 11:30 AM. Coffee and goodies provided. If you would like to bring a snack to share, please do. We can’t wait to see you!

About the Guest Speaker:

Dr. Vivek Shandas is a Professor of Geography at Portland State University.  He is a prolific scholar and speaker on the multiple ways in which climate change interacts with urban green spaces, forestry and parks, and especially the impacts of climate change on vulnerable urban communities.  

Vivek was appointed in 2023 to the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council to the US Department of Agriculture, and he works with numerous nonprofits and community groups.
